My brother became a beast at the Shih Lin Night Market!!! Le Jue and I got really bored one night during his vaca back in December. Figure that he hasn’t gone to the night market yet, we decided to hit it up…just to walk around and “taste” a couple things for memory sake while I shop for some “waste of space” items. Well, the whole walking around didn’t work out as much as we’d like since it started raining after we had our 烤包穀. What else could we do but hit every food stand we like! I stood in line for the GIAGANTIC 炸雞排 while Le Jue went to get his 水煎包. I seriously debated on sharing but the smell of the friggin’ oil in the fryer was sooooo good that I couldn’t really help but say “兩份炸雞排” before I realized it was too late. You can imagine Le Jue’s face when he saw me holding two pices of enormous sized chicken cutlets in my hands while he’s gnawing on a single 水煎包. His jaw dropped and he said… “I thought we were gonna share?!?!” I just looked and said “your sister refuse to share anything’s that fried!!”
As you can imagine, constant eating without drinking is TORTURE. So I walked over to the famous 青蛙下蛋(愛玉&粉圓) place and ordered myself a bowl of 愛玉. Le Jue sat next to me, watching intensely and said “I want one too!” Next thing you know, we had a bowl of 愛玉加粉圓 in front of us. As if that was not enough, I looked over only to find Le Jue staring at something, the 臭豆腐 stand next to us. Before I could say anything, my brother already yelled out the order and the lady was busy frying the stinky tofu away~~ So there they are, the 炸雞排 in his left hand, the bowl of 愛玉加粉圓 in front of him, the plate of 臭豆腐 on his right (his right hand holding a pice of the tofu), and my bowl of 愛玉 on the far right. FYI, we had dinner two hours before we went to the night market, we also had a ton of food during dinner. Eating genes in the Hsieh family is purrty darn good!!
