Beans cake… FINISHED PRODUCT!! woohooo~~

Banana Carob Chip Cake with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting (Non-Fat)… this is Beans’ birthday cake in progress… I had great fun making it. Baking calms me for some reason… A very very long time ago, I used to bake whenever I get upset but ever since my best friend said she can taste the “unhappiness” in those cookies, I stopped doing so. However, baking and cooking = my passion!! I still bake… takes my mind off a lot of things… I get side tracked easily so cooking and baking helps me refocus… I don’t just bake when I’m upset… I bake when I’m happy too!! I just hope that people can now taste the happiness in my cooking/baking…

I’ve heard great things about Citarella… but after my trip to the East Hampton Citarella, I’ve decided that this place is just a hype! not only that… the employees there are beyond UNPROFESSIONAL!! and the food… well, you saw the picture below… what do you think? THAT WAS A REAL PICTURE TAKEN!! A local at East Hampton was there and he laughed when I was taking that picture.
Let’s start at the beginning…
I went up to the counter to ask some questions and the “woman” (i would love to call her lady but she clearly wasn’t one) behind the counter was chatting her head away with her coworkers and I had to wait until she finished her conversation in order to get some sort of attention from her. She clearly didn’t feel like answering my questions, she turned her head slightly my way while her “torso” was still facing towards her coworkers… murmured the answer and returned to her conversation.
“I’m ready to ORDERRRR!!!” I said and she came over to jot down the orders… and left me at the counter… she didn’t tell me how long it’ll take and just LEFT ME. I had to ask her after five minutes into my order regarding the approximate wait time of my order. “Five more minutes!” she said and then she went away~
I was bored while waiting so I checked out the menu written on the board… and sandwiches that were displayed on the countertop. Those sandwiches were just sitting there… chillin’ and this fly was just flying… zooming by… and IT decided to CHILL on one of the sandwiches. I thought of telling that woman behind the counter… but my peering stare obvious did not get her attention.. the only thing I didn’t do was jumping around and waving my arms in the air. So fudge it… I just took a picture of it.
While taking a picture, I notice a guy standing behind the counter… appearantly one of the cooks… he was just standing there, nibbling off a sandwich, smiling~~ not budging when he saw what I was snapping a shot at. YAY!!
I got my food after ten minutes (I was told five minutes) and I was rather disappointed. My softshell crab sandwich was just mediocre. My brother’s Flounder BLT was slightly better. I had no intention on trying DBD’s turkey sandwich but he said it was quite good… then again he also smeared massive amount of spicy brown mustard on it so I have no idea what it would taste like.
Never trust the hype… never!!!

Check out the lovely FLY on the friggin’ sandwich… can you guess where?!?!?!
It’s CITARELLA!!! wonderful East Hampton~~ so classy!!
Beans is a lovely dog… but he’s haunted by HALITOSIS!! I guess no one or should I say no dog’s perfect. Just like how Kahlua’s gorgeous but he’s obese~
I had some extra oatmeal at home so I decided to bake some oatmeal biscuits for Beans… with his bad breath in mind, I researched online and found that Parsley is a natural breath freshener for dogs! So I looked for other recipes that can incorporate the ingredient… here comes the Parsley Oatmeal Biscuits!!
I brought them over to Debs today and gave some to Beans… his halitosis didn’t improve on the spot but I baked enough to last for the next two months (I hope they’ll last that long) and hopefully his “condition” will improve!
(Silly me hor-got to take pictures of the biscuits… shall post them once I obtain one from Debs)

Milo’s birthday cake - Chicken Liver Apple Cake with Non-Fat Honey Cream Cheese Frosting (finished product).
My sister’s dog Milo turned ONE on March 17th, 2008. He’s a bundle of evil so I wasn’t gonna make him a cake… but after two months of guilt trip from my sister, I finally gave in and decide to bake him a proper cake like I did for Kahlua and the late 皮皮. It was well worth it, seeing how happy the dogs were… but also realizing how spoiled the Hsieh Family dogs are…
